Amun’s declamations were just about audible ...

I think..I am the only human being to ever really understand the cave spirits. That’s why they fear me and that’s why I control them. I control their fear

Where Competition thrives…animal…man.... spirit. So does fear

Anuket’s body jolted as the spirits within her struggled as they were pulled to the surface.

Each sprit is in turmoil, desperate to survive. They will destroy each other in fear and confusion. It is nature of things…

Anuket felt her strength falter.  Her consciousness tugged and pulled to another place.

Anuket found herself staring across a barren landscape - she knew it was home

A short distance away a man stood looking out across the wasteland.

The man turned towards Anuket as she approached.

Father-?

Anuket began, but realised the man looking at her was not her father.

you are trying to run away, return home. but this is all thats left.

This is the trail Amun left as  he sought to ruin your family and many others before and since.

Anuket's appearance returned to the young girl who used to run across the nearby shore  more than 3000 years ago.

That's ..why i want him dead.

Death is beyond Amun and those like him.

  Like Amun?

Amun is not alone. We  have unwittingly fed man’s desires trapping ourselves forever.

  Can’t you go back?

If we could - we aren’t what we once were.

Anuket stepped closer and both sat down on the sand

Then ... there has always been evil spirits?

Good ...Evil.....Look at the sands below Where does one begin and the other end..?.We don’t know right from wrong. We only know the primal desires of life on this planet. thats what drew us in the first place. The domain in which we exist is dark. We thought Amun was the light.

Now we realise the cost of Amun’s way. We now look to you.

The man took hold of Anuket’s hand

Amun said your fear was destroying you.

Amun has kept us divided too long. we seek unity We will follow if you accept us.

Anuket looked out across towards the distant shoreline

I miss my home.

You can never go back Anuket.

Anuket felt the man let go of her hand and back away from her. Anuket rose to follow as he quickly disappeared over a hill. Anuket fell as the ground  gave way beneath her feet.  Anuket struggled as sand covered and choked. She gasped desperately as a cold hand took hold and pulled her back to the serpent's lair.
